Amateur Radio Technician / General Class Outline
This is the outline for a combined Technician and General Amateur Radio licening class that is offered by SCARS. This class initially was offerred in January 2016 and 2017 over an eight week timeframe. You can use this outline for your own self study to become licensed in eight short weeks.
If you're looking for a Technician license, just look at the Tech questions as you run through this page. If you're looking for a General license, read through the General questions. If you're looking for both licenses, read both sets of questions as you process through this information.
Each week you'll find some Powerpoint slides that show the topics for the week, and a number of resources that you can use to review for the questions. In addition, you'll find the actual VE questions and answers, split up by topic, so you can study the questions and answers as you go.
Depending on your background, you should be able to make this happen with only about 6 hours per week.
If you have any questions, feel free to join our Facebook group, located at: Facebook Group. We've got hundreds of hams in this group, and all of them will be happy to answer any question that you may have.
Feel free to join our club and be a part of our little community. Membership can be processed online, and we'd love to have you as a part of our group.

We had a lot of material to cover during Week 4 and did not spend nearly as much time as we needed, and didn't even come close to finishing the General material, but here are some very good online resources to help you study!
For those preparing for the Technician exam, step through the materials in the link below using module T7, as well as T9, and T0. VERY good overview and explanations: http://ars.nc4fb.org/tech-class/swf/tech-subelements.html
For those preparing for the General exam, the materials that we ran through like our hair was on-fire or didn't even get to, can be found in the link below in Sessions 7 & 8: http://ars.nc4fb.org/general-2019-online-class/online-general-class-session-slides.html
