The self-study class session will begin at 9:00 am, on April 1, 2023, at the Norman Central Library, 103 West Acres St, Norman, Oklahoma 73069. You will work independently on a guided self-study of the amateur radio technician test questions. You will need a study guide containing all technician questions and correct answers. If you already have one of these, you are welcome to use it. The club has copies of this guide for $5 before the session. When you register, you will receive information on how to obtain a study guide.

Lunch will be provided by the South Canadian Amateur Radio Society (SCARS), or you may bring your own, or go out on your own.

There will be a live demonstration of a working HF long-distance radio system for you to view/operate during the day.

This FCC amateur radio test session will start at 3:30 pm. There is no charge for the self-study session, lunch, or the amateur radio test session. You must also create a Federal Registration Number (FRN) and preregister for the test session at https://w5nor.org/vereg/. If you have additional questions, feel free to respond to the emails you receive. When you have successfully passed your technician test, there is a $35 fee that will be collected by the FCC online a day or so after the test. Your technician license is valid for ten years.
