To help our new SCARS members get into the hobby, we offer either a $25 Baofeng handheld radio or a $25 credit on the $75 GD-77 DMR radio.

Who Does This Affect?
Licensed amateurs that are new to the club and live within one county of Cleveland County, OK, would be eligible for this program.
Program Start
This program started in April 2016.
Program End
This program will end upon termination by the SCARS Executive Committee.
Program Cost
This program will cost the club $25 per ‘newly licensed member.’ Over the past five years, this program has provided almost 200 radio credits.
Program Benefits
Each new member receives:
- a SCARS $25 radio credit.
- Currently, that credit would be a free Baofeng UV-5R -or-
- the credit would reduce the Radioddity GD-77 cost to an additional $50.
