Mr. Q. R. Zedd, A5A, of Honor Roll Ranch, just a hoot and a holler south of town, announces the first annual world DX tour for deserving DXers, to take place over Christmas, 1983, and New Year’s, 1984
The lucky few who get reservations for this astounding tour will not only get to work DX from the prime locations around the world, but will get to see and perhaps even log for the greatest, finest, truest, DXer who ever lived, Mr. Q. R. Zedd himself.
Tondelayo Schwartz, nubile, blonde, 20- year-old QSL secretary to Zedd, will also make the trip. Miss Schwartz will have a new hotpants wardrobe for the occasion.
Highlights of the tour:
- See 18-wheelers run over motor cars traveling 70 miles per hour from picturesque Mount Williams, in Norman!
- Work DX with the polar bears from Heard Island!
- Joust with the Knights of Malta while the great one himself works 40K!
- Spend Christmas day with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus in the Claus shack at the North Pole!
The tour schedule:
Dec. 5, 1983 — Depart Honor Roll Ranch. (Buffalo burger barbecue and Colorado KoolAid the evening previous.)
Dec. 6 and 7 — DX from Mount Williams, Norman.
Dec. 10-13 — Christmas Island.
Dec. 14-17 — Vietnam. Dec. 18-22 — China. Dec. 23 and 24 — Siberia. Dec. 25 — North Pole with Santa Claus. Dec. 27-28 — Mongolia.
Dec. 31 — Festive New Year’s Eve party in beautiful downtown Afghanistan. (Tap dancing by Miss Schwartz.)
Jan. 2-3, 1984 — Heard island. Jan. 4 — “Rare site to be announced.” Jan. 5 — Return to Honor Roll Ranch.
